Configuring your checkout
Shipping based on Flat Rate
The simplest of all shipping methods. Below are the steps to take to set up a Flat Rate-based shipping method:
- Start RealCart.
- Open the Checkout Wizard by clicking the Cash Register button on RealCart’s large toolbar.
- Click the Shipping tab.
- Click the Add button.
- Select Flat Rate as the shipping type.
- click OK.
- In the Fixed Shipping dialog enter the label for the shipping carrier. (What the web shopper will see.) Typical shipping labels might include:
- DHL
- UPS
- FedEx
- USPS
- Priority Mail
More on shipping labels can be found in the Section 5.3.1.
- Enter any standard Flat Rate that you want to add to charge for all of your Priority Mail shipments. In this case we will define our flat rate as $10.00
- Republish your store.
In the above example...
- All orders will be charged $10.00 for shipping.
