Setting test mode
Test Mode affects your checkout form by pre-filling the form with customer contact info so you can test your checkout functions. Instead of having to fill in all of the information required at checkout each time you test your checkout form you can place the store in Test Mode so they are filled out automatically.
If you are using Authorize.Net this also places your Authorize.Net merchant account in Test Mode on their end as well.
CAUTION: Test Mode does not affect other secure order providers like PayPal, WorldPay, LinkPoint, CardReady or any other providers other than Authorize.Net. For this reason you need to understand that if you submit an order with a legitimate credit card number the card will be charged.
Turning Test Mode on or off
- Start RealCart™.
- Open the Checkout Wizard by clicking the Cash Register button on RealCart’s large toolbar.
- Click the Test Mode tab (last one on the right)
- Select “GO LIVE!” to turn Test Mode OFF.
- Select “Test Mode” to turn Test Mode ON.
- Click the OK button.
- Republish your checkout page (pay.html) or just republish your entire store.
Remember that after you publish your store and visit your checkout page you may be looking at an old cached copy of the page in your browser. To see the newly published checkout page right-click the words Test Mode and then click the refresh option on the pop-up menu.
If you still see Test Mode on your checkout page then your page has not been published. You can alternatively force test mode by entering the word “go” in the email field of the checkout page and then tabbing to (or clicking) another field will automatically invoke Test Mode whether it has been published in Test Mode or not.
