Define your store
Setting up your site info
This is the Store Wizard button To get started defining your site information please click the Shop button on the RealCart toolbar. Then click the Site tab.

The information in this wizard screen is critical to proper shopping cart operation as well as registration of the shopping cart upon purchasing a key file.

Store Name

The Store Name you need to enter is the name you want to appear on your store pages. For example, If your company name is ABC Candy Wholesale you might think up a clever name like Wholesale Candies On-Line or something similar. Decide what you want your Store to be called and enter that name here. (We can come back and change it later if you ever decide to call your store something else.)

Site Name

The Site Name in many cases can be the same as your company name although it doesn’t have to be. Enter the name you would like to use for the Site Name in this field.

Site URL

URL means Uniform Resource Location. This is just another fancy way of saying “web address” of your web site. This web address (URL) is critical to the proper operation of the shopping cart as well as the successful registration of the software key. Typically you will want to enter this name simply as:

http://www.yourdomain.com

Substituting your actual domain name for “yourdomain.com”, making it all lower case and including the “www.” will assure a correct match once you try to register the key file to the software. The only time you would not want to use “www.” in your site URL is when “www.yourdomain.com” won’t pull up your site. (This is almost never the case)

If you do not yet have your own domain name you may want to consider getting one here. Currently you can get a domain name registration for less than $15 USD. Until you register your own domain name you can use your current web space on your ISP’s web server. Your site URL is the Base URL to your site. “Base URL” means the domain, or domain and directory combination that leads to your site’s front page.

Examples:

http://www.abc.com
http://www.123.net/~abc

What you should not include in your Site URL is any filename at the end of the URL.

These are examples of incorrect Site URLs:

http://www.123.net/~abc/index.htm
http://www.xyz.net/~acme/home.asp

Secure Server URL

If your web hosting ISP gave is providing you a secure server and you plan to place your cart on it, please enter the URL to the Secure server here. Like the “Base URL” this field needs to contain the domain, or domain and directory combination that leads to your secure page. If you do not have a secure server (or if you don’t understand what we are talking about) then you should leave this field blank for now. We can always come back to it later.

Examples:

https://www.securepages.com/~acme
https://acme.securenet.com/secure

What you should not include in your Secure Server URL is any filename at the end of the URL.

These are examples of incorrect Secure Server URLs:

https://www.pages.com/acme.html
https://acme.secure.com/home.asp

If you need to change any of this information at a later date you can enter the shop wizard again by clicking the “Store” button in the browser menu or you can also click the Shop button on the tool bar. NOTE: Once you have registered your store by purchasing a key file the Site URL will become grayed out because a key file cannot be transferred to another address.
