Defining your store - 10 minutes
For the purpose of our quick start try not to spend more than 10 minutes in this wizard. If you do not know a particular value for some of the fields try leaving them blank. You can always come back later and add the information. RealCart will tell you if you absolutely must have a value for a field in order to get the shopping cart to function normally. Try to see how quickly you can get through this wizard. More detailed information is available later in the manual including:
The Shop Wizard which contains all of your company info pertinent to your physical location like your physical address and ebay ID (if applicable.) Screen by screen instructions about setting up your store are available in chapter 3.
You can also define your site info which includes your web site’s location on the world wide web, your store and site names as well as your SSL secure server URL (if applicable.)
You will be able to define your contact info including telephone numbers, email addresses and IcQ numbers for you and your entire staff.
There is a wizard page for regional info including language and currency symbols.
With RealCart it is possible to define thumbnail images for your departments. The All Products department (your store’s inventory) can have it’s own image as well as the “cart banner” (the area below the shopping cart itself on your on-line store.)
RealCart makes it easy to change themes to alter the way your store looks. There are several themes included with the shopping cart as well as the possibility of customization of your theme to precisely match your existing site.
RealCart works with IcQ to allow you to instantly communicate with other IcQ users as they browse your on-line store. IcQ is an instant messaging program similar to AOL’s Buddy List and Instant Messenger features. IcQ is FREE and is widely used throughout the internet. RealCart also has an AIM Plug-in available to users of AOL Instant Messenger.
RealCart is also compatible with HumanClick live chat. Studies have shown that the most successful on-line store fronts are those equipped with living breathing humans at the click of a button. The HumanClick button looks like this:
